Sidon, which means "happy" in Arabic, is a city located in the western part of Algeria 440 km southwest of Algiers. It is limited by the wilaya of Oran, Mascara, El-Bayadh, Naama, Sidi-Bel-Abbes and Tiaret. It stretches over an area of 6764 square km and has about 300,000 inhabitants.
